Diego Stonepath
Coil-builds pottery from hand-dug clay, fired outdoors the way his family has done for generations.
The Story
Diego digs his clay from the same arroyo his great-grandmother used. Each vessel is coil-built without a wheel, burnished with river stones, painted with wild spinach pigment and fired in an outdoor cedar fire. The smoke clouds that bloom across each pot are unrepeatable — the signature of a single afternoon's wind.
